The Importance of Being Earnest at The Mere in Ellesmere on Saturday 22 June
Join us for a family-friendly outdoor comedy show, The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde’s classic laugh-out-loud play, at The Mere in Ellesmere.
Shropshire Council’s outdoor partnership team will be putting on Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy show of The Importance of Being Earnest at The Mere, Ellesmere on Saturday 22 June at 7pm.
Rain or Shine Theatre Company, a professional Gloucester-based company known for their classical summer season UK tours, will be bringing their own fast and funny version of the play as part of their national tour.
Watch two Victorian gentlemen pretend to be ‘Earnest’ to win the hearts of two ladies, who both want to marry a man with that name, and enjoy a night of hilarious mix-ups in a world of handbags, perambulators, cucumber sandwiches, muffins, butlers, the English upper class, and of course, the unforgettable Lady Bracknell. Bring your drinks, chairs and picnics and have a blast with this hilarious masterpiece.
