Council steps up to offer support and advice for urgent enquiries over the holiday period
Shropshire Council’s customer services will be open during some of the Christmas period to offer support and advice to residents.
The Customer Service Centre will be open for urgent issues on the following days:
- Friday 24 December 2021: 9am to 4pm
- Wednesday 29 December: 9am to 5pm
- Thursday 30 December: 9am to 5pm
- Friday 31 December: 9am to 4pm.
The COVID-19 Support Helpline – 0345 678 9028 – will also be operating on the days and times above, for urgent issues bar any medical ones.
The following services will also be available on these dates and times, though for emergency enquiries only:
- Adult social care, and adult concerns – 0345 678 9044
- Children’s social care, and child concerns – 0345 678 9021
- Welfare Support Team (Local Welfare Fund and Homelessness), for emergency hardship cases only – 0345 678 9078
- Registrars – open for death registrations and urgent marriage enquiries that fall within the holiday period – 0345 678 9016
- Homeless (for emergencies only) – 0345 678 9005
The following numbers will be for emergency calls that cannot wait and require a same day response:-
- Highways and streetscene – 0345 678 9006
- Parking – 0345 678 9019
- Building control – 0345 678 9004
All services will resume full operation from Tuesday 4 January 2022 (the day after Bank Holiday Monday 3 January 2022).
