Volunteers are needed to befriend Shropshire children in care.

We are currently recruiting Independent Visitors for our ever-expanding service, and are looking for anyone who thinks they have the time and energy to devote to a child in care.

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteering opportunity? Can you spare a few hours a month?

Our volunteers enjoy the challenge of building a lasting friendship with an individual child, and the children benefit greatly from a consistent, fun relationship with someone outside the care system. Activities will depend on the age and interests of the child but could include things like a walk, playing in the park, swimming, a visit to a museum, bike riding, sports etc. This is a long-term, one to one commitment.

Volunteers must be over 18 and are welcome from all backgrounds. Full training and ongoing support will be given, and out of pocket expenses paid for mileage and activities. Volunteers will be subject to enhanced police checks.

For further information, please contact : Sarah Clay (Shropshire Independent Visitors Co-ordinator) Tel: 07423 985451 or email: sarah.clay@coramvoice.org.uk.
