The next meeting of the Ellesmere area Local Joint Committee (LJC) takes place on Tuesday 22 September 2015 at 7pm at Ellesmere Town Hall.

The LJC are hosting a specialist speaker from Shropshire Council to talk about key changes brought about by the Care Act from April 2015. This speaker will clarify the nature of what users and carers can expect from the council.

There will also be a presentation on work currently being carried out to find ways of sustaining the library service within Shropshire.  An update will be provided on Ellesmere Library, including details of a proposed public consultation. Organisations interested in taking over the management of the library will be encouraged to come forward and start conversations on how we can work together to find the best outcome for Ellesmere Library.

A presentation will also be given to raise awareness of dementia.

Councillor Ann Hartley, chair of the LJC, said:

“These are all very important issues, I encourage residents to come along and find out more. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to put forward issues that you would like discussed at future meetings.”

The public are encouraged to attend and have their say on issues they feel are important, and to join in discussions with the local councillors.
