On Wednesday 2 July 2014 hundreds of young people from across the county came together to compete in the summer Shropshire Homes School Sport Festival, as part of Sainsbury’s School Games.

Eight primary schools from across North Shropshire qualified to compete at the event, which took place at the Shrewsbury Sports Village.

The standard of competition was very high, with all competitors aiming to win points for their School Games area (Shrewsbury, South Shropshire, East Shropshire, North Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Burton Borough, or Telford and Wrekin Phoenix) in the hope that they would be crowned winners.

Team work, determination and talent shone through on the day, which resulted in north Shropshire getting their best results ever in the three years that the event has been running.  Fantastic support from parents and teachers was also a contributing factor to the team’s success.  Overall North Shropshire finished third out of the six School Games areas.
