South planning committee decisions – 10 September 2013
The following planning decisions were made by Shropshire Council’s South planning committee at its meeting on Tuesday 10 September 2013 in Bridgnorth.
Units 1 and 24 Shifnal Industrial Estate, Lamledge Lane, Shifnal, Shropshire (12/04176/MAW)
Application under Section 73a of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 for the continued use of an existing building for the processing and recycling of waste materials, and the use of land for the storage of wastes and skips; erection of building housing four small storage units (Part Retrospective).
Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the officer’s recommendation, and as per the amended and additional conditions as set out in the Schedule of Additional Letters, subject to the permission being for a temporary period of two years.
Ludstone Hall, Claverley, Wolverhampton, WV5 7DE (13/01022/FUL)
Conversion of traditional barns into six residential units (one affordable), installation of a package treatment plant and the demolition of the existing modern farm buildings.
Decision: That, subject to a Section 106 Legal Agreement to secure unit four as an affordable dwelling, planning permission be granted in accordance with the officer’s recommendation, subject to the following additional condition:
- No development shall take place, including any works of demolition, until a Construction Method Statement has been submitted to, and approved in writing, by the local planning authority.
Land off Birchmeadow Road, Broseley, Shropshire, TF12 5LP (13/01141/OUT)
Outline application for the erection of 4 No. 3 bedroom dwellings (to include scale).
Decision: That this application be deferred in order for the applicant to give consideration to reducing the number of dwellings to three and of a staggered design, inclusion of real chimneys, and widening of the footpath.
Land on the east side of Foldgate Lane, Ludlow, Shropshire (13/01449/OUT)
Outline application for the erection of 1No building for a combined use as a veterinary surgery and A1 retail and 1No building for a combined A3/A5 use to include access and layout.
Decision: That this application be deferred in order for the applicant to give consideration to removing the A3/A5 element of the proposal.
Land adjacent to STW Water Works, Hopton Wafers, Shropshire (13/01950/FUL)
Erection of three dwellings with garages.
Decision: That planning permission be refused in accordance with the officer’s recommendation.
Robins Lye, Batch Valley, All Stretton, Church Stretton, Shropshire (13/02509/VAR)
Variation of Condition 2 of planning permission No. SS/1/08/21268/F so as to permit dwelling as built, ie omitting sedum roof included on approved drawings.
Decision: That, contrary to the officer’s recommendation, planning permission be refused for the following reason:
- The proposed variation would significantly detract from the character and appearance of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
