Volunteers needed for litter pick in Shifnal
Shropshire Council is calling for volunteers to help with a community litter pick that will be held in Shifnal on Wednesday 17 October 2012.
The litter pick is an event that aims to tidy up the local area as well as bringing the local community together in the process. Those who want to get involved will need to be at Aston Street car park for 9.30am for a short briefing. All equipment will be provided.
Martin Bennett, Shropshire Council’s deputy Cabinet member, said:
“From my own experience, I know how really satisfying it can be to get ‘stuck in’ to an effort to tidy up an area. You get a real sense of having achieved something, it gives you a real buzz. I would like to invite as many as possible to come along and share this in an all out effort to make Shifnal look its best.”
Stuart West, Shropshire Councillor for Shifnal South and Cosford, said:
“I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to join in and help enhance Shifnal.”
This is just one of a number of community litter picks that have taken place across the county over the last few months. Forthcoming litter picks include Highley and Bridgnorth.
