Extra buses for Ludlow Food Festival

Visitors heading to Ludlow Food Festival this weekend will be able to take advantage of extra Park and Ride buses running from Ludlow Eco Park.

Shropshire Council has arranged for two extra buses to run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (7, 8 and 9 September 2012), providing a Park and Ride service every 15 minutes to the town centre.

The additional buses will operate at the following times:

  • Friday 8am to 6pm
  • Saturday 8am to 7pm
  • Sunday 9.30am to 6pm

Tickets will be the same as the food festival operated services: adults £1 and children 50p (concessionary passes will not be applicable).

Town centre bus services will be operating as normal, and the Eco Park car park will be marshalled each day so people can be directed to the right bus for them.

Local Shropshire Councillors Rosanna Taylor-Smith, Tracey Huffer and Martin Taylor-Smith said:

“The food festival is a wonderful event and brings lots of people into town, so we are delighted the council is helping by laying on extra buses.  The festival is already a very well-run event, so anything we can do to help improve the transport links can only add to its success.”

Simon Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for transport, added:

“The council does what it can to support events like the food festival, and we hope this year is just as enjoyable as previous years.”
