Shropshire Fostering comes to Shrewsbury Pride
Shropshire Fostering team will be on hand at Shrewsbury’s first ever Pride Festival tomorrow (Saturday 30 September 2023). The team will be available in the Unitarian Church on 37-38 High Street from 10am. Pride celebrates everyone, so come as you are and enjoy what Pride has to offer.
Residents living or visiting Shrewsbury on the day can come and speak to the Shropshire Fostering team face-to-face about any questions they may have. The team are really pleased to be able to support Pride and have their message, branding and banners emblazoned all over the main stage.
Fostering changes lives
Kirstie Hurst-Knight, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for children and education, said:-
“Every child in Shropshire deserves a loving home and fostering, for many children, can be their first positive experience of family life.
“Our foster carers do an incredible job of providing them with the stability and confidence they need. By committing their time and their love, carers give children – and often whole families – the time and the space to rebuild their lives.
“So, if you’re interested in becoming a foster carer, come and join the team for a discussion at the Unitarian Church in Shrewsbury.
“You can come along by yourself, with a partner, friends, or your children. The fostering team will have an area for children to relax and do some colouring. There will also be chocolates and sweets on hand. If you are feeling indecisive about fostering or you’re not sure where to start your journey, this discussion is your perfect opportunity to find out more information. If you want to go ahead with the fostering process, there will be an advisor available to take your details to share more information.”
