Council to host networking event for Apprentices
Shropshire Council will be supporting a unique event designed specifically for people undertaking Apprenticeships across the West Midlands.
The Apprenticeship Development Forum, hosted by the council’s Upskill Shropshire team with support from the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network and OAL Limited, will take place on Wednesday 8 February 2023 from 1pm until 4.30pm in the Sovereign Suite at Shrewsbury Town Football Club, during National Apprenticeship Week (NAW 2023).
This event will be the first in a series which will look to bring together more than 70 apprentices to network and learn together in a collaborative environment, no matter what course they are on. Apprentices will be in attendance from the private sector and public sector, undertaking apprenticeships ranging across digital, care, education and business routes.
The event will include inspiring guest speakers who work closely with or have undertaken apprenticeships themselves. Event facilitators will provide thought-provoking discussion sessions to encourage innovative thinking – all of which can be embedded into Apprentice’s Off the Job Training. There will also be a “secret” element to the event which will challenge attendees in a surprising and unique way – more to be revealed at the event!
Gwilym Butler, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for finance and corporate resources, said:-
“The Forum will provide an excellent opportunity for Apprentices to share skills, learn about others roles and experiences and feel motivated and supported in a brand new network.
“It’s open to everyone, from any organisation. Please book your place if you can.”
The exclusive event only has limited tickets available so booking early is recommended.
Refreshments will be provided for attendees who attend the Forum.
