Enable make Time to Talk
Following on from the success of their employer engagement event last year, Shropshire Council’s supported employment service, Enable, will be taking part in the “Time to Talk” day by holding the event, “Making Mental Health your Business Makes Time to Talk” in Shirehall.
The event allows employers and employees to come and speak to the organisation’s team of experts about how to deal with mental illness in the workplace.
Enable is Centre of Excellence in IPS, recognised by the Centre for Mental Health. The organisation provides advice and practical help for people with mental health needs with finding and keeping jobs that suit their personal strengths and motivations. With a proven track record of 20 years of results in Shropshire and across West Midlands, Enable ensures that the jobseeker is following a path that will engage them through the use of highly successful, person-centred methods.
According to the Mental Health Foundation, mental illness causes 70 million working days to be lost each year – directly impacting on companies’ bottom lines. Smart employers address this and carry out necessary actions to promote mental well-being in the workplace.
The event will be taking place on Thursday 2 February 2017 at 11am-2pm in the Shirehall foyer. There is no need to pre-bok an appointment and anyone looking for advice is welcome. As well as aiming to help employers, the event also aims to increase awareness about mental health in the work place and to remove any stigma around talking about mental health.
