The next meeting of the Albrighton area Local Joint Committee (LJC) will be held on Wednesday 20 April 2016 at The Red House, Albrighton starting at 7pm.

As usual the meeting will start with an update from both the Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service and the local policing team about activity locally.

There will be an update on the progress made on the transfer of the local library service to Albrighton Parish Council, and the development of the library into a community hub for the area.  There will then be presentations from:

  • Jane Randall-Smith, Chief Executive of Health Watch Shropshire, which is the health and social care champion for people and local communities in Shropshire
  • Peter Banford, Programme Manager for the LEADER funding, who will be explaining the types of projects that might be appropriate to apply for funding.

Councillor Malcolm Pate, Chair of the LJC, said:

“This is your opportunity to speak to your councillors direct about the issues that concern you.  We know there are concerns locally about the future of the local library service, so why not come along and take part and have your say.  This is an ideal opportunity for you to direct your concerns to the people who will be considering the future management of these services.”

The autumn meeting of the LJC will be held on 12 October 2016 at The Red House, Albrighton 7pm-9pm – so put the date in your diary and come along and have your say.
