The StrettonDale Local Joint Committee (LJC) has an interesting meeting planned for Thursday 19 November 2015 at Leebotwood Village Hall at 7pm. Emergency planning and community transport are top of the agenda.

Representatives from Shropshire Council will be present to give an overview of how towns and parishes can prepare themselves for emergencies and risks in their areas, which will include examples of work in other areas.

Local community transport opportunities, and how you can support this vital work, will also be discussed.

Tim Barker, chairman of the LJC, said:

“Rural communities are already quite resilient, but we welcome the chance to widen our scope with advice at the LJC meeting in relation to planning for emergencies such as flooding, bad weather and other risks that occur occasionally.”

The meeting will also include an update on youth commissioning in the area, local information from the flood team, the Connecting Shropshire broadband project, and news and events from the parishes that form the LJC.

Representatives from the local policing team will be available from 6.30pm if you wish to discuss any matters on a one-to-one basis.

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting and to take part in the discussions.
