Shrewsbury town centre to open as normal this Sunday

Shrewsbury town centre will be open as normal this Sunday (12 July 2015) after essential drainage and gas works at Mardol House were completed ahead of schedule.

Shoplatch was closed to traffic last Sunday (5 July 2015) while this work on the new University Centre Shrewsbury student accommodation was carried out – and a second closure had been planned for this Sunday to complete the work.

However, contractors Willmot Dixon successfully completed the work in one day, meaning there is no longer a need to close Shoplatch this Sunday.

Meanwhile, people are reminded that under a new Sunday parking offer they can ‘pay £1 and park all day’ in Shrewsbury’s long-stay car parks, or pay £1 for the maximum stay period in short stay car parks.
