Children and young people of Shropshire can look forward to a summer holiday packed full of fun from Monday 21 July 2014 to Friday 29 August 2014.

A variety of activities are taking place at various sports centres, village halls and outside spaces around Shropshire.

For a full comprehensive list of leisure services’ summer activities, please visit http://shropshire.gov.uk/leisure/out-2-play-project/holiday-activities/

Sessions include messy play, rollerskating, Playday Week and Tot-tastics.

Gwilym Butler, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, libraries and culture, encouraged local children to join in the fun:

“Shropshire Council’s holiday activity schemes offer a variety of activities to keep children and young people entertained this summer.  I am sure many of our younger residents will be pleased to take part in the activities on offer. There is plenty of opportunity for the children and young people of Shropshire to keep fit, healthy and active over the summer break and have some good old-fashioned fun in the process.”

Also, remember Shropshire Council’s Community Play Store is a great resource to utilise this summer, or for whenever you may need it.  The Play Store provides the opportunity to hire resources for you to use at home, in an organised setting, inside a venue or outside to play.  The Play Store is equipped with a wide variety of equipment, from giant games to sports equipment to musical instruments.

Anyone is eligible to access the equipment; all you have to do is become a member of the Store.  Membership is free and hiring costs vary but are minimal.
