Councils seek feedback to shape HIV prevention services
A review of HIV prevention services is taking place in the Shropshire County and Telford & Wrekin areas. To help improve the service, Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council are looking to hear the views of the public in order to help shape the new service.
An online survey is available for people to complete and share their opinions.
Prevention and early diagnosis is important in reducing the transmission of HIV, and the review of the current service aims to improve the system for preventing HIV and improving access to HIV testing in the community.
Karen Calder, Shropshire Council Cabinet member for health, said:
“This is a great opportunity to further shape this vital service. The prevention of HIV is key in reducing the devastating effect it can have to a person’s health and their life because it is incurable. It’s not just their life, but the lives of those around them. Prevention is the best way to tackle this and it’s important we hear thoughts on how we can improve our service.”
You can fill out the online questionnaire at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HIV-Prevention-Services or email ali.cartwright@shropshire.gov.uk
The deadline for responses is Friday 9 August 2013.
