Ryton Shuttle Service – Saturday 27 October until Saturday 3 November

A free shuttle service linking people living in Ryton to the 435 bus service at Dorrington started this weekend (Saturday 27 October 2012). 

This service is being put in place until Saturday 3 November 2012, due to the closure of the road between Condover and Dorrington for essential maintenance, meaning that the 435 bus service operating between Shrewsbury and Ludlow is unable to serve Ryton. 

Comet Cars are providing this service at the following times: 

Until Wednesday 31 October  

Mornings 

Pick up from Ryton near the telephone box at 7.40am to link to the 435 service which leaves Dorrington at 7.52am to travel to Shrewsbury.  Or pick up at 9.50am to link to the 435 service which leaves Dorrington at 10.02am to travel to Shrewsbury. 

Afternoons 

Pick up from Dorrington opposite The Horseshoes Inn at 1.38pm, 3.38pm or 6.08pm for the return to Ryton. 

Between Thursday 1 November and Friday 2 November  

Mornings 

Pick up from Ryton near the telephone box at 7.40am to link to the 435 service which leaves Dorrington at 7.51am to travel to Shrewsbury.  Or pick up at 9.50am to link to the 435 service which leaves Dorrington at 10.01am to travel to Shrewsbury. 

Afternoons

Pick up from Dorrington opposite The Horseshoes Inn at 1.55pm, 3.55pm or 6.05pm for the return to Ryton. 

On Saturday 3 November 

Mornings 

Pick up from Ryton near the telephone box at 8.20am to link to the 435 service which leaves Dorrington at 8.34am to travel to Shrewsbury.  Or pick up at 10.05am to link to the 435 service which leaves Dorrington at 10.19am to travel to Shrewsbury. 

Afternoons 

Pick up from Dorrington opposite The Horseshoes Inn at 1.55pm, 3.55pm or 5.55pm for the return to Ryton.

Councillor Simon Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member responsible for passenger transport, said:

“By putting on this free shuttle service, people from Ryton will still be able to access their local bus service despite the essential road closure.” 

There is no charge for this connecting service.  Standard fares are chargeable on board the 435 service and concessionary passes are still valid.
