Free marketing support prize on offer at business fair
Wem Business Fair is a free event and will be held on Wednesday 17 October 2012 at Wem Town Hall between 3pm and 6.30pm. It is an initiative by Wem Economic Forum, supported by Shropshire Council.
The fair will have 15 stands, including offering advice on setting up a business or becoming self-employed, one-to-one business clinics, information on grants and training. There will be the opportunity for businesses to join a local directory through placing their details on a ‘B2B’ board on the day.
As part of this there will be an on-the-day competition with a free marketing support package as the prize.
Pauline Dee, Chair of the Wem Economic Forum and a Shropshire Councillor for Wem, explained:
“The organisers are pleased to confirm that two local companies have come forward to offer a free marketing support package as the prize of the competition we are running for businesses and self-employed on the day of the fair. I can’t tell you the exact details about the competition, it wouldn’t be fair, but everyone who attends and enters could win a free business marketing consultancy session and a package of corporate photographs. Many aspects of business depend on successful marketing. Without it, a business may offer the best products or services, but none of its potential customers would know about it. Our thanks go to both Clare Downes of Monkhouse Marketing and Mike Norman Photography for offering this wonderful prize.”
Pauline also thanked local councils and the Midcounties Co-Operative for sponsoring the fair, adding:
“Without the financial support of Shropshire Council, Wem Town Council, Wem Rural Parish Council and the local branch of the Co-op, we wouldn’t be able to put on a free event. This confirms the pro-active approach the councils and Co-op have in helping local businesses.”
Mike Owen, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for economic growth and prosperity, said:
“This is a great opportunity for local businesses to gain free advice and support. I hope that this, along with the opportunity of a marketing support package, will encourage lots of businesses to come and see what is on offer.”
