Volunteers needed for litter pick in Bridgnorth
People living in Bridgnorth are being encouraged to take part in a community litter pick in the Grove area on Wednesday 12 September 2012.
Shropshire Council officers will be at Lodge Lane in front of the play area at 9.30am to meet volunteers and give a brief health and safety talk. Litter picking equipment will be provided.
Councillor Martin Bennett, Shropshire Council’s deputy cabinet member, said:
“I’d like to invite as many people as possible to come along on the day to lend a hand in this joint effort between the community and the council to keep Bridgnorth clean and tidy.”
Christian Lea, Shropshire Councillor for Bridgnorth East and Astley Abbotts, said:
“Community litter picks are a great way for local people to get involved and play their part in helping to keep their local area tidy. If anyone can spare an hour to help out next Wednesday morning, then it would be great to see them.”
This is just one of a number of community litter picks taking place across the county over the next few months. These include Albrighton, Shifnal and Highley.
