Local business launches start-up and booster grants for Pontesbury and Minsterley
Local company, Always Consult, has announced further support for small businesses in the parishes of Pontesbury and Minsterley after being awarded £10,000 as part of Shropshire Council’s Market Towns Revitalisation Programme.
Always Consult, based in Plealey, is a management and people development company founded to help businesses succeed through improved management and people development. This money will be used to support new start-up businesses in the area as well as supporting businesses under three years old to invest in capital purchases for business growth and expansion.
Carol Ewels, Always Consult’s managing director, said:
“We’re delighted to be involved in this initiative from the council’s Market Towns Revitalisation Project. We’re passionate about developing businesses in the area as members of our team live in the villages.”
John Hurst-Knight, Shropshire Council’s deputy Cabinet member responsible for market towns regeneration, said:
“I am delighted that this money will be used to help support our local businesses.”
Always Consult has also recently started a series of Business Breakfast Meetings, held bi-monthly at the Horseshoes Pub, Pontesbury.
Carol explains:
“We wanted to set up a forum where local small businesses could network, share knowledge and expertise and work together. The meetings have proved to be really successful, with many companies finding common links. We’ll be talking about the grants at the next meeting on Monday 30 July 2012, 8am to 10am.”
Tudor Bebb, Shropshire Councillor for Minsterley, said:
“This is a great bonus for the rural businesses that find it difficult getting grant funding to help them get started, especially in the Rea Valley area.”
