People living in the south east of the county can find out about the proposed changes to their local hospital services at a public meeting in Bridgnorth on Tuesday 15 November 2011.

The proposals include plans to merge women’s and children’s inpatient services at the Princess Royal Hospital and concentrate inpatient surgery at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital from 2014.

The meeting is being held by the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and the Bridgnorth and surrounding area Local Joint Committee, and will take place at Oldbury Wells School, starting at 7pm.

Trust Chief Executive Adam Cairns, who will be presenting at the meeting, said:

“This is a great opportunity to come and find out about the latest plans.  There will also be the chance to ask questions and find out how you can get involved in shaping the future of our local hospital services.”

Councillor Gwilym Butler, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for partnership working, added:

“I would encourage anyone living in the south east of the county to come along to this really important meeting and have your say.”
