A night at the museum – 13 May 2011
Are there any ghosts at Rowley’s House? Do the Romans wake up when the sun goes down? Do extinct animals come alive in the dark? Come and find out when Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery opens its doors at night!
On Friday 13 May 2011 the museum will be open until midnight and brave explorers of all ages are invited to a late night adventure. Visitors will discover mystical creatures along a night trail, and until 8pm children will have the opportunity to make Roman jewellery, try out prehistoric tools and join craft activities. Ghost tours will be run at 9.30pm and 11pm.
Additionally, the museum will show the Hollywood movie “Night at the Museum” as part of its “Movies & Ghosts Special” – a package which will also include “historic snacks” and a ghost tour.
Tim Jenkins, facility manager of Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, said:
“Exploring the museum at night is a spooky experience which will give our visitors a unique experience in a unique environment!”
Admission to the museum and most children’s activities are free.
