News from our partners Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing (STAR Housing)

STAR Housing’s heating, servicing and repairs contractor has this year again been providing customers in need with ‘Winter Warmer Packs’ over the festive break.

Liberty Gas put together non-perishable foods, gloves, hats and temporary heating where necessary. These ‘Warmer Packs’ are gifted to customers by the engineers themselves when they feel they are vulnerable or may need the assistance. This means that if our customers had an emergency gas problem they could be given food and warmth until after the festive period.

Lee Smith, Assistant Director at Liberty Gas, said:-

“As part of our Winter Plan, Liberty Group, working in partnership with STAR Housing, have delivered Winter Warmer Packs to any vulnerable customers identified over the festive break; this is part of our continued commitment and support to our customers.”

During the festive period several STAR Housing customers benefited from the ‘Winter Warmer Packs’ in places such as Broseley and Bridgnorth, and were said to be ‘over the moon’ with what they received.

STAR Housing’s Building Services Officer, Steve Jones, thanked Liberty Gas for their generosity:-

“STAR Housing would like to thank our central heating contractor Liberty Gas for their recent distribution of ‘winter warmer packs’. Liberty Engineers distributed winter packs which contained non-perishable foods, hats and gloves to some of our elderly or vulnerable tenants.

This is a fantastic example of how STAR Housing and our contractors are constantly looking for ways to help our customers and make their lives easier. We would like to thank Liberty Gas for their generosity and commitment over the festive period.
