Parents, carers and professionals supporting children and young people are invited to have their say on public health services for children and young people between 0 to 25 years.

The surveys have been set up to help inform how the Health Visitor and School Nursing service will run in the future and to ensure they continue to meet the needs of young people. The services commissioned by Shropshire Councils Children and Young Peoples team, are currently being reviewed and will be going out for tender in the New Year.

Councillor Karen Calder, Cabinet Member for Health and Chair of Shropshire’s Health and Wellbeing Board said;

“Having access to good health and wellbeing services are essential to the development of our children and young people now and for the future. Therefore we want to ensure that we have a strong children and young people’s public health service that can help to support them.

“Currently our Children and Young People’s Public Health Team are realigning the Health Visitor and School Nursing services to ensure they meet the needs of children and young people in Shropshire. As part of this review we want to hear the views of parents, carers and professionals to help us develop our 0 to 25 public health services for children and young people.

“I strongly urge all parents, carers and relevant organisations to take part in our surveys and to help us develop these services to ensure we are providing a coherent and effective service to meet the needs of the children and young people of Shropshire.”

The surveys also asks what kind of public health services young people and their parents or carers would like information and support on.

Three surveys have been set up including one specifically aimed for children and young people.
