The Craven Arms and Rural Local Joint Committee (LJC) has organised a special event for residents on Wednesday 16 November at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, to offer help and advice about home and personal security.

The drop-in event runs from 3pm to 7pm with representatives from West Mercia Police giving advice and demonstrating home security products, flood protection advice from the National Flood Forum and Shropshire Council, plus scam advice and awareness from the public protection team at Shropshire Council. Smartwater representatives will be on hand until 5pm to demonstrate their unique property marking product.

In addition, there will also be a public LJC meeting at 7pm in the Discovery Centre where residents can hear the latest news and issues from the town and parish councils in the area, plus get an update from the local policing team and a presentation on the new Shropshire Choices website.

Councillor David Evans, chairman of the committee, said:

“This drop-in event is a great opportunity to seek advice from professional advisors from a range of key organisations to help to keep yourself and your property safe this winter.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the drop-in event and the public meeting to take part in the discussions.
