The first-ever Whitchurch Skills & Jobs Fair will be taking place on Friday 26 September in Whitchurch Leisure Centre from 10am until 3pm.

The aim of this Fair is to bring together employers, training providers and skills information to match potential job seekers with jobs, offer sign-posting to new career paths and give advice on a range of employment questions.

Owen Paterson MP for north Shropshire is organising this Fair, in partnership with Shropshire Council and Job Centre Plus, and will be inviting employers from the Whitchurch area to take part in this event.

Shropshire Councillor Peggy Mullock said:

“By organising this Skills & Jobs Fair we are aiming to match businesses with employees. This event will raise the profile of the town and bring together companies looking to recruit and people wanting employment, as well as people considering a change of career and enabling everyone to find out the wealth of industry in Whitchurch and surrounding areas.”

This event is for you if you are an employer who:

  • has any potential vacancies – short-term and permanent.
  • has skills gaps that they are finding hard to fill.
  • offers careers.
  • would like to know more about employing apprenticeships.
  • has the potential to offer a graduate placement.

If you would like to book a stand or find out more please email Shropshire Council Community Enablement Officer, Nicki Young, on nicki.young@shropshire.gov.uk by Friday 5 September 2014.
