The team, community support officer and pupils from Broseley CE Primary School focused on the area around the school, including the Birchmeadow Playing Fields.

The litter pick was organised by the council’s environmental maintenance team with help from its housing team, as part of the national Big Tidy Up campaign, and it was carried out in addition to their routine street cleaning schedule.

Councillor Martin Bennett, Shropshire Council’s deputy Cabinet member, said:

“It’s great to see young people getting involved in keeping their local community clean and tidy.

“I hope their involvement will encourage more people to join our teams in the future.”

Jean Jones, Shropshire Councillor for Broseley, said:

“I would like to thank the pupils of Broseley CE Primary School for all their work during the recent litter pick and for setting a good example for the rest of the community to follow.”
