A summary of decisions made by Shropshire Council’s South planning committee at its meeting on Tuesday 12 July 2011.

11/01871/FUL

16 The Hawthorns, Bridgnorth, WV16 5JG

Erection of side and rear extensions to dwelling.

Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the officer’s recommendation.

11/01759/FUL

Field View, Brockton, Much Wenlock,TF13 6JR

Erection of a canine hydrotherapy building.

Decision: That planning permission be refused, for the following reasons:-

The proposed development and use of the building would be harmful to the amenity of the area and cause disturbance and loss of privacy to neighbours in close proximity to the application site in this quiet, secluded location by reason of noise from the activities and traffic associated with the use and extra vehicle movements over the narrow access drive harming privacy.  The development would not safeguard residential and local amenity and the proposal is therefore contrary to Core Strategy Policy CS6.

The existing access drive to the site is not considered suitable to accommodate the traffic that would be generated by the proposed development by reason of the restricted visibilty in a northerly direction and the single track nature of the drive with no passing places. The proposal is therefore contrary to the saved Bridgnorth District Local Plan policy D6.
