Gwilym Butler – Cabinet member for communities, place planning and regulatory services

Gwilym has been a Shropshire Councillor since 2009, represents Cleobury Mortimer division, and before that served on South Shropshire District Council.

He has previously been the Cabinet member for libraries and leisure.

Gwilym sits on The Rural Service Network for Shropshire Council, lobbying for a fairer deal for the rural areas. He also sits on MRRT trading as Impetus helping small businesses. He is a trustee of Cleobury Mortimer Men’s Shed.

His background is as a local sub-postmaster, running post offices and convenience stores for 24 years. He now runs his modest property company renting out commercial and residential units and holiday lets.

Gwilym’s hobbies include gardening and horticulture, travelling and classic cars.
